About Pius A. Atu

Pius A. Atu, DNP, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with expertise in general psychiatry, specializing in all psychiatric diagnoses. As a clinical adjunct preceptor for Eastern Kentucky University, he plays a vital role in training the next generation of psychiatric professionals.

Dr. Atu earned his Nurse Practitioner degree at Washburn University and Florida International University, completing his clinical training at Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas. His extensive experience includes working with veterans at the VA Health Care System, where he has been recognized for advancing psychiatric care.

He is an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, and the Psychiatric Research Group. His passion for mental health extends beyond clinical practice, contributing to research and advocacy for improved psychiatric care.
