About Tara Nelson

Tara Nelson is a Clinical Master of Social Work Student who is passionate about supporting individuals navigating trauma, substance use concerns, mental health challenges, and difficult life experiences. She is committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment where clients feel supported as they share their experiences and work toward meaningful change.

Tara earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Kentucky, along with dual certifications focused on trauma-responsive practices and substance use disorders.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Tara has also lived in South America. Her experiences both at home and abroad have expanded her appreciation and understanding of different cultures and perspectives, which she brings to her work with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Tara believes that creating a safe therapeutic environment helps foster collaboration, healing, and personal growth. Her approach is client-centered and individualized, recognizing that every person brings different experiences, strengths, challenges, and needs to therapy.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Tara works collaboratively with each client to understand the level of support that feels right for them. Her goal is to help clients feel heard, supported, and empowered as they navigate challenges and move toward greater stability and well-being.
